As railway technology advances, training must keep pace with the systems people are expected to operate. That is the work Malaysian technology company XCEL ITECH will bring into focus at InnoTrans 2026, held from 22 to 25 September in Berlin.
Following Malaysia’s successful debut at the fair in 2024, XCEL ITECH will exhibit among the companies at the MATRADE-led Malaysia Pavilion in Hall 10.1, Stand 220. Its participation comes as digitalisation, electrification and reliable rail operations feature prominently across this year’s exhibition. InnoTrans says its Railway Technology segment will include more than 1,200 exhibitors from five continents.
Training for the railway people actually operate
XCEL ITECH’s rail products recreate familiar Malaysian networks, allowing personnel to develop route knowledge and practise procedures in controlled settings.
Its Monorail Train Driving Simulator models the KL Monorail’s 8.6-kilometre elevated route, including 11 stations and a depot. The desktop driving simulator works with an instructor operating station to support driver training and emergency-response exercises.

XCEL ITECH’s monorail driving simulator recreates the route and operating environment of the KL Monorail.
The Dual Configuration Train System Simulator covers both the Ampang–Sri Petaling Line and Express Rail Link within one platform. It includes a full-cab simulator, an instructor operating station and a portable simulator. Installed inside a refurbished Adtranz train, screens in its retained passenger area simulate the view of a train in motion.

The passenger training area uses screens to recreate the visual experience of train movement.
For the Kelana Jaya Line, XCEL ITECH developed a Collaborative Train Simulator based on the KLAV27 train. A semi-cabin, three workstations and an instructor operating station allow trainees to practise individually or as a team across a model of the 46.4-kilometre line.

The collaborative simulator combines a cabin, workstations and instructor controls for Kelana Jaya Line training.
Beyond the driving cab
The company’s VR Operation and Maintenance Training system uses three-dimensional equipment models and interactive exercises. Trainees can explore how equipment functions, then work through inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance procedures before handling physical assets.

These four products form part of a broader business in simulation, digital engineering and system integration. Beyond transportation, XCEL ITECH develops simulation and integrated training systems for defence and security, as well as immersive learning platforms for education. In transport, its services focus on training, operational performance and digital solutions.
At InnoTrans, XCEL ITECH’s spotlight is on a practical connection between new rail technology and the people
