AWC Secures RM59 Million Contract for Ampang Line Conductor Rail Replacement
KUALA LUMPUR, December 2025 — AWC Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Trackwork & Supplies Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a substantial contract valued at nearly RM59 million to upgrade critical infrastructure on the Ampang Line, a key urban rail network in Malaysia. This development underscores the ongoing investment in the nation's public transportation systems and AWC's continued role in delivering essential rail projects.
The three-year project entails the comprehensive replacement of aluminium power conductor rails along the Ampang Line for Prasarana Malaysia Bhd. Following the completion of the works, the contract includes a two-year defect liability period, ensuring the long-term performance and reliability of the new infrastructure.
This significant award not only reinforces AWC's established presence in Malaysia's urban transport sector but also contributes positively to its growing order book. The company's total order book is estimated at RM785 million, encompassing projects across its facilities, environmental, engineering, and rail segments.
While AWC's recent quarterly financial results showed a core net profit of RM4.2 million for the three months ending September 30, 2025, which fell short of market expectations due to slower billings from its environment segment in the Middle East, this new contract highlights the group's strategic focus on diversifying revenue streams. It reaffirms AWC's position as a dependable partner for large-scale infrastructure development within the region.
