NOVEMBER 2025, KANPUR —The expansion of urban transit infrastructure in India continues with a significant development in Uttar Pradesh. Efkon India has been awarded a substantial contract for the Kanpur Metro Line 2 project, marking a key step in enhancing the region's public transportation network. Efkon India emerged as the lowest bidder, securing the contract for electrical and mechanical systems valued at $19.7 million. The tender process, initiated earlier this year by UPMRCL, saw five firms submit technical bids. Efkon India's offer was the most competitive, surpassing bids from Blue Star, Kalpataru Projects, and Universal MEP. Formal approval for the contract was granted on November 7, 2025.

This contract is pivotal for the advancement of the Kanpur Metro Line 2, aiming to provide faster, greener, and safer public transport options. The implementation of high-efficiency electrical and mechanical systems, integrated with intelligent management solutions, is expected to optimize reliability, reduce energy consumption, and lower emissions.
