Malaysia's East Coast Rail Link Progresses Towards Completion

Big milestone for Malaysia’s transport future, the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) has now reached 82.45% completion as of April 2025. That’s ahead of schedule and a clear sign of momentum building across our national infrastructure.

From track installations in Pahang to electrification works and EMU trains arriving soon, the vision of connecting Kota Bharu to Gombak in just four hours is no longer a dream; it’s becoming a reality. And with thousands of local job opportunities and training programs like PLKI-ECRL, this isn’t just a railway project. It’s a nation-building journey.

Exciting times ahead for East Coast connectivity. Can’t wait to see this one roll into full service by 2027.
