Teltronic Provides TETRA System for Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 1

Ho Chi Minh City has launched its first urban rail line with the support of Teltronic's TETRA communication system, implemented for Metro Line 1. The line, stretching 19.7 kilometres between Ben Thanh in the city centre and Suoi Tien in the northeast, combines underground and elevated sections to improve connectivity and ease road congestion.

Teltronic, serving as the communication technology provider for Hitachi Rail, delivered the system's design, supply, and deployment. The solution ensures reliable and secure communications across the nearly 20-kilometre route. It includes onboard radio equipment and control consoles for 17 trains, portable and fixed terminals for maintenance and security staff, and a control centre solution featuring six operator workstations in two separate facilities.

The system integrates with critical subsystems such as Public Address, intercom, and the Train Control & Management System (TCMS). This integration supports efficient daily operations and enhances passenger safety.

Felipe Sanjuan, Transport Business Development Director at Teltronic, said the company was proud to contribute to the project, which he described as "a milestone for Ho Chi Minh City" and an opportunity to reinforce Teltronic's role in delivering communication solutions for mass transit across Asia.

Metro Line 1 is expected to play a central role in modernising the city's transport network and supporting sustainable urban mobility.
