Prasarana-Hitachi TVET Programme Aims to Train 1000 Individuals

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad is stepping up its commitment to the National TVET Policy 2030 by launching a comprehensive skills development initiative aimed at training 1,000 young Malaysians over the next five years in areas such as railway operations, electric bus systems, rolling stock maintenance, and cybersecurity.

The structured programme blends theory, hands-on industry training, and certification—equipping school leavers, vocational students, and graduates with the skills to contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s public transport ecosystem.

As a certified agency under the National Dual Training System since 2011, Prasarana continues to play a key role in nurturing homegrown rail professionals—supporting the nation’s ambition to become a regional hub for rail expertise and innovation.

In collaboration with Hitachi Rail GTS, a new 9-month protege programme will also be launched to provide real-world industry exposure and build a pipeline of future-ready talent for both organisations.

“This initiative isn’t just about skills. It’s about building a generation of world-class transport professionals to serve Malaysia and beyond,” said Group CEO Azharuddin Mat Sah.
