Chennai Metro Rail is set to enhance commuter convenience by installing digital display boards at Chennai airport, railway stations (Chennai Central and Egmore), IT parks, shopping malls, and educational institutions. These boards will feature the route map of the 54-km phase I and phase I extension network, fare details, distance to the nearest station, and real-time train updates.

The initiative aims to facilitate multi-modal integration, providing first-time travelers and regular commuters easy access to essential information. Strategic placement of the display boards within these locations is intended to encourage greater use of the metro system. The project is currently in the bidding phase and is expected to be implemented soon.
