BEIJING, November 2025 —China’s commitment to expanding its high-speed rail (HSR) capabilities continues to accelerate, driven by the rapid development of its Fuxing bullet train network. This next-generation fleet represents the peak of China’s HSR technology and forms a core component of the country’s broader strategy to strengthen regional connectivity and economic integration across Asia.

China plans to expand its high-speed rail network to 50,000 kilometres by 2035, covering around 90% of cities with populations above 500,000.
