Dhaka Metro Rail Service Briefly Suspended Due to Technical Fault

DHAKA, November 2025 — The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) recently imposed a temporary service suspension of its metro rail operations in Dhaka, affecting passengers on the segment between Pallabi Station and Mirpur-11 Station. The outage lasted from 12:40 PM to 1:10 PM on Sunday, during which urgent repairs were carried out on an electrical line.

Although the disruption was short-lived, it nonetheless caused inconvenience for commuters, and serves as a reminder of the importance of rigorous maintenance protocols and rapid response strategies in urban rail infrastructure. DMTCL announced the suspension via its official Facebook page and offered a sincere apology to affected passengers.

Such incidents underscore the critical need to ensure that metro systems maintain consistent reliability and operational integrity especially in rapidly growing urban environments where public transit forms the backbone of mobility.
