Dinajpur Rail Bazaar Undergoes Taka 1.26 Crore Modernization for Enhanced Rail Infrastructure
DINAJPUR, November 2025 — A significant infrastructure development project has been inaugurated at the traditional Rail Bazaar in Dinajpur, aiming to modernise facilities and enhance the overall experience for commuters and vendors. This initiative underscores a commitment to upgrading key commercial hubs that serve as vital nodes within the region’s transportation network.
The project, valued at Taka 1.26 crore, is part of the broader Modern Hat Bazaar Construction Project. It encompasses the construction of essential amenities including reinforced‑cement‑concrete (RCC) roads, drainage systems, dedicated sheds for fish and meat vendors, installation of tube wells, and the addition of street solar lights and public toilets.
The completion of these infrastructural upgrades is expected to significantly restore the aesthetic appeal of the Rail Bazaar. More importantly, it aims to ensure greater comfort and convenience for both buyers and sellers, fostering a more efficient and pleasant trading environment.
The project was formally inaugurated by Md. Riaz Uddin (Deputy Director of the Local Government Department and Administrator of Dinajpur Municipality) at 12:30 PM on Sunday, 2 November 2025. Municipal Executive Engineer Md. Minarul Islam confirmed the details of the development work.
This investment in the Dinajpur Rail Bazaar represents a focused effort to improve local market infrastructure, which is crucial for supporting economic activity and enhancing the functionality of transportation‑linked commercial areas. Such developments are key to modernising public spaces and improving the quality of life for residents.
