JOETSU, NIIGATA, November 2025 — Echigo Tokimeki Railway Co. recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with a distinctive event that allowed participants to experience operating a train, underscoring the company's efforts to engage the public with its operations and regional railway services.

The event, held on October 25th at the Naoetsu D51 Rail Park in Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture, involved eight individuals ranging from 13 to 70 years old. Attendees received training before operating a Series ET122 train, commonly used on the Nihonkai Hisui Line, along a 150-meter inspection track.

This initiative provides a unique avenue for a regional railway operator to connect with enthusiasts and the local community, potentially fostering greater interest in rail transport and the company's role in the region's infrastructure.
