Fufu' and 'Xinxin' Unveiled as Mascots for Global High-Speed Rail Event in China
China has announced 'Fufu' and 'Xinxin' as the official mascots for the 12th World Congress on High-Speed Rail, which will commence in Beijing on July 8, 2025. The mascots, inspired by giant pandas, are designed to showcase China's growing influence and technological advancements in the high-speed rail industry.
Fufu, dressed as a high-speed train driver, embodies "happiness through innovation and connectivity," while Xinxin, dressed as a train attendant, symbolises "warm service and care." Their names collectively echo "Fuxing", China's flagship high-speed train brand, representing the aim to bring warmth and happiness through modern rail travel. Selected via a global naming campaign, the mascots integrate elements of China's high-speed rail system and national identity, emphasising safety, efficiency, and passenger-centred service.
The World Congress on High-Speed Rail, organised by China State Railway Group and the International Union of Railways, is a significant international event. This year's congress, coinciding with the 200th anniversary of railways worldwide, will host government officials, corporate executives, and railway experts for discussions, exhibitions, and cultural exchanges centred on the future of high-speed rail and its impact on global mobility.
