Inside Asia Unveils New 13-Day Rail Journey Across South Korea
SEOUL, South Korea, November 2025 —Inside Asia has launched its new 13-day "Korea by Rail" itinerary, designed to connect travelers across South Korea using its expanding ITX rail network. This new offering is notable for being the first to fully utilize the recently opened Donghae rail line, facilitating a comprehensive loop from the capital to the east coast and back.
Priced from £3,455 per person, the tour includes accommodation, nationwide transport, select private guiding, transfers, meals, and cultural experiences. It specifically links Gangneung to Busan via the Donghae line and incorporates a traditional *hanok* stay in the historic city of Gyeongju, offering a deep dive into the country's diverse regions.
This rail-focused approach aims to simplify travel by eliminating the need for domestic flights or private transfers, thereby opening up greater opportunities for cultural exploration. It highlights Gangneung as a destination, previously overlooked by international visitors, known for its beaches, coffee culture, and traditions, while also providing a more responsible and scenic travel option that mirrors local commuting habits.
Rebecca Barry, Senior South Korea Product Executive at Inside Asia, emphasized the ease of travel and the scenic beauty of the journey. Co-founder Alastair Donnelly expressed confidence in South Korea's growing appeal, anticipating it to be InsideAsia's fastest-growing destination in 2026, bolstered by upcoming infrastructure developments like a new high-speed KTX line.
The "Korea by Rail" itinerary underscores the growing popularity of rail travel as an immersive experience, allowing visitors to engage with local life beyond typical tourist bubbles. With South Korea's reliable and pleasant train system, this journey offers a unique perspective on the country's landscapes, communities, and culture, positioning it as an increasingly attractive destination for discerning travelers.
