Kelana Jaya LRT Line Restores Full Service Following Power Rail System Overhaul
OCTOBER 2025, PETALING JAYA —The Kelana Jaya light-rail line has resumed full operations following the completion of essential repairs to its power rail infrastructure at Dang Wangi station. Operator RapidKL confirmed that the overhaul is now concluded, and all interim train arrangements have been discontinued.
For daily commuters, this marks a return to normal scheduling and a significant reduction in travel disruptions, thereby enhancing the overall reliability of the system. For RapidKL, the swift restoration underscores how proactive infrastructure maintenance can help avert extended service interruptions.
During the disruption, alternative arrangements were put in place: select trains turned back at intermediate stations, and a dedicated shuttle train ran between the key central stations to maintain passenger movement.
The episode illustrates how vital the power-rail systems are to urban transit networks, and how even temporary failures can ripple into major service impacts. Maintaining and upgrading these systems is not just a technical matter it is an operational imperative for city life.
With full operations restored, commuters on the Kelana Jaya line can now expect consistent service once more.
