RM1M Grant from CRRC to Drive Digitalization in Malaysia's Rail Logistics Sector
KUALA LUMPUR, November 2025 — The Malaysian Ministry of Transport (MOT) has received a RM1 million grant from China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) under the government's Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP). This funding is designated for the Pusat Logistik Negara (PLN) to enhance capacity building and drive digital transformation within Malaysia's logistics and transport sector.
Administered by the Technology Depository Agency (TDA), the grant will support key initiatives including the professional certification of 18 MOT officers, the development of a National Freight Data Framework, and the digitalization of the MOT Database System using artificial intelligence (AI).
These efforts aim to strengthen data-driven governance, improve workforce skills, and advance digitalization across the nation's logistics and rail infrastructure. The initiative represents a strategic investment in modernizing operational capabilities and boosting sector efficiency.
The grant was presented at Transport Expo Asia (TXA) 2025, where an ICP Impact Analysis Report highlighted the program's success in supporting 129 projects in rail, aerospace, and other sectors from 2015-2025. This collaboration underscores the commitment to leveraging international partnerships for national development and enhancing the competitiveness of Malaysia's transport industry.
