SITC Trial Success Bolsters Qinzhou-Jakarta-Semarang Sea-Rail Intermodal Route
QINZHOU, October 2025 — The ongoing development of robust intermodal transport networks across Asia is gaining momentum, and a recent successful trial by SITC Logistics Indonesia highlights advancements in sea-rail integration. This initiative aims to enhance logistics efficiency and connectivity between key economic centres in China and Southeast Asia.

SITC Logistics Indonesia recently completed the inaugural trial of its Qinzhou–Jakarta–Semarang sea-rail intermodal transport solution. A train loaded with SITC containers departed Jakarta on 28 August 2025 and arrived at the Semarang Freight Terminal the next day. The entire cargo delivery to its factory destination was completed within three days, with empty containers also returned efficiently.
This successful operation demonstrates the efficient and reliable transportation capabilities of the new route, significantly improving timeliness and service reliability within Indonesia’s logistics system. It has effectively verified the feasibility of sea-rail transport as a viable component of the nation’s logistics infrastructure.
SITC Logistics Indonesia plans to leverage this success as a catalyst for continuous process optimisation and the expansion of intermodal models. The company is focused on creating sustainable logistics products that meet the evolving demands of regional and international trade.
This achievement underscores the growing importance of integrated transport solutions in strengthening regional supply chains and fostering economic development. It aligns with broader industry trends towards more efficient, reliable, and sustainable logistics operations across the Asia-Pacific region.
