Tiruchi Division Engages Rail Users for Station Enhancement at Srirangam
TIRUCHI, October 2025 — The Tiruchchirappalli Railway Division recently organised an “Amrit Samvaad” programme at Srirangam Railway Station, bringing rail users and railway officials into direct dialogue. This initiative underlines a commitment to passenger-centric development within India’s extensive rail network, with the goal of enhancing the overall travel experience by actively soliciting and incorporating user feedback into station improvements and service delivery.
During the event, Divisional Railway Manager Balak Ram Negi engaged with passengers who provided valuable suggestions for amenity enhancements. Key requests included the installation of an additional lift at Platform 1, improved queue-management systems during peak festival seasons, and the construction of a prominent arch at the station entrance. These suggestions follow the station’s recent redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which already introduced upgraded waiting halls, modern lighting, and enhanced accessibility features.
This proactive approach to gathering passenger input highlights a strategic focus on continuous service improvement and operational efficiency. By directly addressing user concerns and suggestions, the railway administration aims to create more passenger-friendly environments, which can lead to increased satisfaction and potentially boost rail travel demand. Such initiatives are crucial for the rail sector’s ongoing efforts to modernise infrastructure and adapt to evolving passenger expectations.
Mr Negi assured attendees that the proposed lift at Platform 1 is already under way and that the construction of the station-entrance arch would be prioritised. He emphasised the division’s dedication to refining services based on public feedback, noting that similar outreach programmes have been successfully implemented at other stations, including Ariyalur Railway Station, Vriddhachalam Railway Station, and Chidambaram Railway Station. The “Amrit Samvaad” initiative, mandated by the Railway Board, is designed to bolster public engagement and elevate service standards across the Southern Railway network.
