Vossloh Secures €20 Million Contract for China's Xining-Chengdu High-Speed Rail Line
CHINA, October 2025 — China continues its rapid expansion of high-speed rail infrastructure, a critical component of its national development strategy and a major driver of economic connectivity across the vast country. This ongoing investment underscores the region’s leading role in global high-speed rail development.

German rail-technology specialist Vossloh AG has been awarded a contract valued at just under €20 million via its Chinese subsidiary Vossloh Fastening Systems China Co. Ltd. The company will supply essential rail-fastening systems for a section of the new high-speed line linking Xining (in the northwest) with Chengdu (in the southwest). Deliveries are scheduled for 2027.
This contract reinforces Vossloh’s status as a key supplier in China’s burgeoning rail-sector and highlights the sustained demand for advanced infrastructure solutions. It also signifies progress in developing high-speed corridors that connect diverse regions within China, enhancing both passenger mobility and economic integration.
“With the ongoing development of the world’s largest high-speed network, China is setting standards in the railway industry,” said Oliver Schuster, CEO of Vossloh AG. “We are proud to be part of China’s success story in the rail sector and to contribute substantially, as a reliable partner, to the expansion of sustainable mobility.”
Vossloh has maintained a presence in China for nearly two decades, supporting the nation’s high-speed-rail network expansion through multiple contracts. The Xining-Chengdu project is another indication of China’s commitment to advancing its high-speed-rail capabilities part of a broader global trend of investing in sustainable and efficient transport networks to foster economic growth and connectivity.
