Yangtze Delta Unveils Multi-Ride High-Speed Rail Passes for Enhanced Regional Travel
YANGTZE RIVER DELTA , November 2025 — The Yangtze River Delta, a crucial economic hub in China, has introduced a new suite of multi-ride high-speed rail passes designed to significantly enhance travel convenience and affordability across the region. This initiative by China Railway Shanghai Group Co. aims to foster greater connectivity and encourage more fluid movement between its major cities and attractions.
These innovative passes offer travelers flexible access to 26 stations along five key high-speed rail lines for up to 15 days. Passengers can choose from three distinct themed routes: the "Shanghai-Nanjing-Hangzhou Explorer," the "Mountains and Lakes" route, and the "Water Town Journey." The passes are available in denominations of two to ten rides, allowing users to board any train servicing the selected route.
The introduction of these passes is expected to stimulate regional tourism and economic exchange by making inter-city travel more accessible and cost-effective. By simplifying the travel experience, the passes encourage exploration of the delta's diverse cultural and natural landscapes, thereby strengthening the region's integrated transport network.
Available for purchase via the 12306 China Railway mobile app, website, and station kiosks, these passes represent a strategic move towards modernizing rail ticketing and promoting high-speed rail as a preferred mode of transport. This development aligns with broader efforts to create more integrated and user-friendly public transportation systems.
