Thailand, August 2026 – The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has launched SRT Express One Price, a new parcel delivery service designed to use the country's nationwide railway network for transporting small packages. The initiative targets the general public, online sellers, shops and small businesses seeking a more predictable delivery option.
The service accepts parcels weighing up to 2kg and measuring no more than 50 × 50 × 50cm. It operates under two fixed pricing categories: THB70 for shipments travelling along the same railway line and THB100 for deliveries between different railway lines. The charges are designed as all-inclusive rates, eliminating distance-based calculations and additional service fees.
For the rail sector, the initiative demonstrates how existing railway capacity can support broader logistics services alongside passenger operations. By providing a nationwide parcel network with fixed charges, SRT is positioning rail as an accessible option for smaller shipments while potentially improving utilisation of its established transport infrastructure.
The service is particularly relevant to Thailand's growing online commerce sector, where predictable shipping costs can help small businesses manage expenses. SRT also highlights the railway's fixed timetables as an advantage, allowing customers to plan parcel dispatch and collection around established train schedules.
