The Universiti Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia Italy Design Institute (UniKL MIDI) is proud to host the 4th International Railway Forum 2025, themed “Vision Forward 2030: Leveraging AI to Advance Railway Connectivity and New Energy Transformation.” Organised by UniKL MIDI and co-hosted by the Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation (MARIC), this prestigious forum brings together key stakeholders from across the railway ecosystem, including academia, industry leaders, government representatives, and rail professionals. Among the keynote speakers are Mr. Amir Hamdan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, and Ts. Khairul Shahrir, Project Team Head of Department at Sarawak Metro.

The forum aims to serve as a dynamic platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and forward-looking insights on the advancement of the railway sector. Discussions will focus on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be leveraged to enhance railway connectivity, alongside the role of new energy transformation in promoting sustainable mobility. These critical themes reflect the industry’s shift towards smarter, more efficient, and environmentally responsible rail systems.

The overall objective of the forum is to explore how emerging technologies, particularly AI and new energy solutions, can revolutionise railway operations, strengthen connectivity, and accelerate the transition towards a sustainable and future-ready rail network in Malaysia andbeyond. At the same time, the forum seeks to strengthen industry university collaboration, promote continuous knowledge exchange, and foster strategic partnerships that support the development of skilled human capital in railway technology.

Through open dialogue and collaborative engagement, the 4th International Railway Forum 2025 also supports Malaysia’s ambition to become a regional leader in smart, energy-efficient, and advanced railway development.
